Michael is a resident expert in SBIR/STTR, having wrote, won, and acted as PI for an NSF Phase I Award, took the NSF iCORPS program, and served as reviewer on multiple SBIR/STTR Panel reviews. He is able to assess and guide entrepreneurs in navigating the process for non-dilutive federal funding. Working with CTNext and BBC Etc., Michael is also able to liaise with other state agencies to offer subsidized proposal development and review and access to other mentors, programs, and funding.

Additionally, Michael is responsible for assessing engineering and physical science related invention disclosures at the University of Connecticut for patentability and market potential. He supports UConn inventors through management of intellectual property, the creation of invention-tailored marketing plans and outreach, and agreement negotiation and management.
