Amit Kumar is Senior Director of Licensing at University of Connecticut’s Technology CommercializationServices. He is responsible of leading the Licensing and Business Development team that is responsible for protecting and monetizing the intellectual property developed at University of Connecticut (UConn).

Amit joined UConn in fall of 2019, bringing a strong background in technology evaluation and commercialization. Prior to joining UConn, he has worked in Fortune 50 companies, startup company, small business, and academia in variety of roles such as business development, strategy and licensing across wide range of industry including life sciences, clean technology, oil & gas, aerospace and power generation.

Amit holds a doctorate in molecular biophysics from Medical College of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s degree in biophysics from All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
