About the Course

This course if sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD) and is a part of the Hacking for Defense (H4D) ecosystem. Students will work in teams over the semester to solve real-life problems sourced from across DoD agencies; this course will prioritize problem sets focusing on priority issues for the United States Navy, especially the submarine fleet. Teams will identify and meet with parties across DoD impacted by this problem as they identify pain points and potential solutions. Teams will then prototype and test solutions with problem sponsors (funding available for R&D costs). Angel investing is available for teams which produce a viable product of interest to DoD. The program is a great way to get acquainted with DoD agencies and to build a rolodex for anyone interested in a career in defense engineering!
